Our History
Humble beginnings
Back in 2005, woodwind specialist, UK producer and entrepreneur, Mike Parlett, and his long-time friend, Emmy award winning producer, Jonathan Wales, had an idea.
Both had extensive experience in the music industry and they thought it would be a fantastic idea to collaborate and set up a top-notch recording studio in L.A that could compete with some of the larger, established Los Angeles studios. A studio that would cater to multiple types of artists and offer a “one stop-solution” for all of their recording needs, from conception to release.
Jonathan was already an established re-recording mixer in the USA and Mike had his own successes as a sought after session musician and businessman in the UK but neither of them had many connections in the L.A music scene.
Humble beginnings
Mike arrived in L.A. with nothing but a suitcase and a saxophone

We envisioned an accessible sanctuary for recording artists
He lived in a motel in Glendale (The Vagabond) but that didn’t stop him! Within a few weeks Mike moved into a house in Los Angeles and not long after he and Jonathan booked their first client.
The client was scheduled to fly in from the UK in six weeks time. The only problem was, they didn’t have a studio… yet. Mike and Jonathan raised the required funds and invested the money into building Talented Studios from the ground up. Within a few weeks the studio was ready to begin their first project on time.
